Ready to support and volunteer for this epic event?

Before the event kicks off, we will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to thrive.
Our comprehensive two-day training covers:

  • Communications: this is key and essential for smooth, precise operation. We will teach you on how to use radios and satellite communications to stay connected in remote locations.

  • Camp details: we explain the ins and outs of camp life, from setting things up to keeping things running, and taking things down.

  • Checkpoint operations: we will train you to set up and manage checkpoints, how to encourage racers and what not to do.

  • Building rapport and support: you will learn how to build positive relationships with the racers that you will be supporting. You will also get to understand the hardships and emotions that they may be experiencing.

  • Monitoring: we will train you on how to sweep (moving along the race route at the back of the race) and possibly the media operations on the tech side.

  • Safety: we will train you in the emergency procedures to ensure everyone's safety and well-being. That includes staff and runners – the ins and outs of making sure everyone is looked after.

Rest assured that this is not just volunteering – this is an adventure!  You will experience the race environment from a unique and extraordinary interactive perspective, having the experience of a lifetime!
